The Seattle Northwest Flower and Garden Festival is set to take place February 15th - 19th, 2022. Tickets for the Flower Buses are available for purchase in our Garden Store. The Flower Buses leave the Nursery on Wednesday, Thursday (full), and Friday (open), February 15th, 16th, and 17th, at 8:30 a.m. and return at approximately 6 p.m. The cost of the combination show ticket and bus ride is $62. Please arrive at the Garden Store to check in at 8 a.m. We are excited to journey down to the Convention Center with you!

A Fascination for Hellebores
Christianson’s 17th Annual Winter Festival
Saturday and Sunday, February 25th and 26th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Keynote speaker: Riz Reyes, February 25th at 1 p.m. in the Schoolhouse 
Hellebores, with their diverse color and blooms, offer winter interest at a time when the garden feels empty of color. These hardy perennials bloom throughout the winter when nights remain cool. Their rich green foliage provides summer and winter interest, which is why it is a favorite winter flowering perennial of ours. They re-bloom over the course of the winter months and produce flowers that cut well for bouquets, provide fantastic foliage, and offer depth to the winter garden. 
Our hellebore offerings will fill our Propagation House to the brim with a beautiful display throughout the weekend. With exciting varieties, such as ‘Rosemary’ and tried-and-true favorites like ‘Madam Lemonnier’ with large early blooming flowers, you will surely find a favorite.
A complimentary class begins Saturday, February 25th, at 1 p.m. in the Schoolhouse with keynote speaker and noted horticulturist, Riz Reyes, who will discuss the different varieties of hellebores and how to use them in the garden, cut arrangements, and containers. Stay after class for a live floral arrangement demonstration by Riz with an emphasis on current bouquet styles. Enjoy varieties from the Gold Collection, Ice N’ Roses, and Winter Jewels. Enjoy a lovely weekend discovering varieties that will keep your garden blooming throughout winter!

Are you tired of fussing over tender edibles that need pampering to provide you with food? Then you are ready to explore the lower-maintenance world of perennial vegetables and hardy herbs. From artichokes to yacon, easy-care vegetables delight. Sturdy rosemary and sage grow with just a little annual tending. Author and Master Gardener, Bill Thorness, will discuss the perennial crops that are simply grown and will share tips on proper planting, care, and use. You may even leave with some great recipes!

Join Jeff Wycoff of the Seattle Rose Society and past President of the American Rose Society and author of Better Homes & Gardens Rose Gardening, in a discussion on rose pruning, rose care, and his suggestions on notable 2023 varieties. His knowledge and guidance will have you feeling confident in your next rose purchase as well as prepared for February rose pruning.

Join Sarah Wagstaff, owner of SUOT Farm, an urban flower farm, in making dried wreaths from her collection of dried perennials, boughs, and seed pods that will hold up well indoors and bring joy for years to come. Choose from an array of her dried ornamentals and give your arrangements a re-fresh as we head into spring. Along with the botanicals, she will provide a wonderful selection of shells and feathers to choose from. *All materials are provided

2023 Rose List
Have you looked through our 2023 Rose List? Browse the many wonderful rose varieties we will offer this year. Plan a visit to Greenhouse #5 and shop our vast selection of shrub, rugosa, ground cover, English, and climbing roses. Some varieties are in high demand and may be sold out. We are happy to offer suggestions for alternative varieties, or we can add your name to our wish list.
New Year, New Floors!
Exciting things are afoot! Our Primrose Antique & Gift shop will be getting new wood floors and the project starts this week! We are hoping to have the shop back open on February 3rd or 4th. During our remodel, you can find greeting cards, a great array of Valentine's gifts, and yummy treats in our Garden Store, and our 'Dig Plant Love' t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats in the Conservatory (which are also great gifts for Valentines). Thanks for your patience and we look forward to seeing you soon!
February – the time to gather inspiration... and seeds!
Now is the time of year to look through the many books and magazines we have collected over the winter months, or the images we have saved to our numerous Pinterest boards and plan out our cutting gardens. As we organize and strategize, the garden is beginning to turn over and take shape for spring. Our Conservatory houses everything you will need to begin your seed-starting journey. We have incredible varieties of seed annuals from Uprising Seeds and Renee's Garden, along with seed starting mix, trays, and heating mats. We hope you are feeling inspired for the spring season ahead!
