Skagit Valley College invites community to celebration 100 years during Cardinal Centennial Days
Skagit Valley College invites students, alumni, current and former faculty and staff, and community members to celebrate a century of impact, learning, and Cardinal pride during Cardinal Centennial Days in May.
The free, two-day celebration will feature live music, food and refreshments, games, activities, and special events honoring the college’s 100-year history and the people who have shaped its legacy.
Cardinal Centennial Days will take place:
Through the Decades at Whidbey Island Campus — May 19
1900 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor
4-6 p.m. — Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Community Gathering
Special highlights include:
- Story Pole Dedication crafted by Master Carver Kevin Paul
- Live music and beer garden
- Food and refreshments
- Program spotlights and campus tours
Centennial Carnival at Mount Vernon Campus — May 20
Tollefson Plaza, 2405 E. College Way, Mount Vernon
2-4 p.m. — Student Celebration
4-6 p.m. — Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Community Gathering
Special highlights include:
- Unveiling of a new campus mural celebrating SVC’s history and community
- Food and refreshments
- Carnival games
- Bouncy house
- Music and beer garden
Cardinal Centennial Days provide an opportunity to celebrate the students, employees, alumni, and community members who have helped shape Skagit Valley College over the past 100 years while honoring the college’s shared history and looking ahead to its future.
